Nine months since Katrina struck New Orleans, ruined neighbourhoods still and inexplicably await the verdict from Mayor C. Ray Nagin as to whether they will be chosen for redevelopment or not. In May of this year Montreal Serai went to the devastated Lower Ninth Ward, one of those communities whose life hangs in the balance. There we spoke with local resident/activist, Robert Richardson. The following is his disturbing, local take on the lot of the Lower Ninth Ward during and since Katrina.
